Senior Database Administrator (Cloud and On Prem DB)

Our Insurance client looking for high calibre Senior Cloud DBA to join their Infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and optimize cloud databases on Alibaba Cloud (RDS, PolarDB) and AWS (RDS, Aurora).
• Manage database architecture, performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Automate operations and deployments with Terraform or Ansible.
• Implement database security and access control following cloud best practices.
• Support database migration and cross-cloud sync using AWS DMS or Alibaba DTS.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of DBA experience including cloud database management.
• Strong skills in Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale (TB-level) databases, sharding, and read/write splitting.
• Experience leading cloud migrations, DR drills, or hybrid cloud projects.
• Preferably certified in Alibaba Cloud ACP/ACE or AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
• Strong documentation and communication skills in Cantonese and English.
